Open Enrollment 2027

The 2027 Benefit Open Enrollment (OE) period will begin on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 8:00am PDT and end Friday, November 20, 2026 at 5:00pm PST.

During the Open Enrollment period you can make the following changes:

• Enroll or delete eligible dependents
• Enroll in plans you previously waived
• Change your medical plan
• Change your dental plan
• Waive medical, dental, and/or vision plan coverage

Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS) will be hosting informational webinars about the UC Postdoc Benefits program and will give an overview of the 2027 benefit plans and contributions. The schedule for the webinars, as well as links to join the meetings, can be found here. We highly recommend that everyone attend an open enrollment webinar. Health Net has also created a microsite specific to the University of California PSBP which has the most up to date information on the Health Net plans (medical HMO, medical PPO, dental HMO) and features a FAQ and other plan documents

If you do not take action during the OE period, you will keep the same plans and coverages. Changes cannot be made after the OE period ends (unless you have a qualifying life event) so please review your current enrollment information and the OE material carefully.

If you elect to make changes, you will need to do it in the UC Path portal. Information on how to log in and access UCPath can be found on ucpath.ucsd.edu.

The changes you make will be effective January 1, 2027.

UC Path Portal

To review your current benefit elections and to make changes during the Open Enrollment period, you will need to log into the UC Path Portal. If you have not logged into UC Path yet, please do so now to avoid last minute technical issues. When you first log in, you will need to update your personal profile, set up five security questions, and verify and update personal information – all before you can take part in Open Enrollment process.
